Elon Musk tweets Tesla Model S Plaid delivery will be delayed until June 10
Tesla CEO Elon Musk tweeted on Saturday that deliveries of the manufacturer’s Model S Plaid would be delayed until June 10 because the car needs “a week of more tuning.”
“This car looks like a spaceship,” tweeted Musk, also CEO of SpaceX. “Words cannot describe the limbic resonance. “
The company has been teasing the Plaid since 2019, and Musk tweeted on May 20 that Tesla would host a delivery event on June 3 at its factory in Fremont, California.
Delivery of the S Plaid model has been postponed to June 10. Still requires a week of tuning.

Tesla introduced the Model S Plaid as part of its Battery Day presentation last September. It’s a step up from Tesla’s Ludicrous trim level and can hit 0 to 100 km / h in under two seconds, reaching top speeds of up to 200 km / h, according to Musk. Current specs on Tesla’s website show the Plaid will have a range of 390-412 miles, with the upcoming Plaid Plus at a range of over 520 miles. Prices on Tesla’s website from Saturday show the purchase price of the Model S Plaid starting at $ 119,990 and that of the Plaid Plus at $ 149,990. The Plaid Plus is listed as “available mid-2022”.
The Plaid debuted in September 2019 at the Laguna Seca circuit, where it completed the course in 1 minute and 36 seconds.
