L&T Construction wins contracts for its water and effluent treatment business in Tanzania
Indian multinational Larsen & Toubro’s construction subsidiary, L&T Construction, has been awarded a contract for its water and effluent treatment business to construct and commission water supply systems for various cities in Tanzania.
“The overall scope of work includes the design and construction of raw water intake systems, storage tanks, water treatment plants with a total capacity of 71 MLD, 5 clear water tanks , pumping stations, 263 km of pipeline and associated electromechanical works,” the company said. said Tuesday.
The project is funded by EXIM Bank of India. The order, which the company classifies as “significant”, is worth between Rs 1,000 and Rs 2,500 crore.
In addition, the company has secured additional national orders from the State Water and Sanitation Mission of Uttar Pradesh to implement various rural water supply projects under of the Jal Jeevan mission to provide functional house tap connections (FHTC) in the state.

Its consolidated net profit fell by 16.70% to Rs 2,054.74 crore on an 11.14% increase in net sales to Rs 39,562.92 crore in Q3 FY22 compared to Q3 FY21.
