South Korea agrees to continue supporting vocational education in Sri Lanka

Friday, March 25, 2022, 9:30 p.m. SL time, ColomboPage News Desk, Sri Lanka.

March 25, Colombo: Korean Ambassador to Sri Lanka Woonjin Jeong and Korean Embassy Director EXIM Bank to Sri Lanka along with a delegation from Korea yesterday participated in a special observation visit of the Institute Korean technical training (K Tec) in Orugodawatta (24).

The Minister of State for Skills Development, Vocational Training, Research and Innovation, Dr Seetha Arambepola, was also present on the occasion.


Following the visit, a special discussion took place and the Minister of State requested the Korean delegation to provide all necessary assistance to further improve the vocational education of students in Sri Lanka and the Korean delegation agreed to provide the necessary assistance at the request of the Minister of State.

Established with the assistance of the Korea Economic Development Cooperation Fund, K Tec operates under the Sri Lanka Vocational Training Authority (VTA).


State Ministry Secretary Deepa Liyanage and VTA Vice President Mahesh Ariyaratne along with the Korean delegation were also present.
