The Gadget Co. moved, Charcuteray opened, which is a meat and cheese place. Willamina is a women’s clothing boutique and the Roots coworking space will be opening in the next few months,” he said.
Hall wanted a neighborhood brewery, so he bought the land in 2011 and began the process of rezoning. Hall was Oklahoma’s first modern-day brewery to be built from the ground up.
“We’ve always had a vision of having a brewery here. This was the first time a brewery had attempted to locate in Tulsa, outside of the normal zoning areas. We spent all of 2014 rezoning the property so that we can do the brasserie, a bar as well as two Airbnb apartments upstairs, which we are currently working on.
We have a residential, commercial and industrial on this one site. It was unique at the time. And we were the first brewery to be built from the ground up in Oklahoma,” Hall said.
Once the zoning was cleared, construction began. The tavern opened to the public in January 2017. Prior to that, Hall gypsy brewed at Dead Armadillo. Gypsy brewing is where you brew your brand of beer at another brewery. Oklahoma breweries help each other. It allows you to bring your beers to market without the overhead of owning your own brewery.
The brewery has event space that can be rented. It also has a commercial kitchen which should be open in the next few weeks. They will have items such as paninis on the menu.
